VHS SHLOKATHON April 13, 2025
Guidelines:
- Students must arrive at Saraswathy Hall before 9:00 AM.
- Students are expected to dress in appropriate temple attire.
- Students will be called by name and given 5 minutes to recite shlokas.
- Judges will evaluate participants based on accuracy, pronunciation, memory, and musicality and provide feedback.
- Students must stay for the entire event to be eligible for awards and certificates.
- Participation is free, with certificates and prizes up for
grabs.
Beginners1 and Beginners 2 - choose ANY 3 shlokas.
Ramayana and above - choose ONE shloka from EACH SEGMENT below.
Judge's Challenge - If your child has memorized all the shlokas for the Shlokathon, they can participate in the Judges Challenge, where they will be asked to recite ANY 3 shlokas chosen by the judges. Every participant in this category will receive a special gift.

SENIOR ASSEMBLY SHLOKATHON
Students choice - Students will be asked to recite their choice of any Kanda from NamaRamyanam, 3 shlokas from Aditya Hridayam and 2 Shlokas from Mahishasura Mardhini.
Judge's Challenge - If your child has memorized all the shlokas for the Shlokathon, they can participate in the Judges Challenge, where they will be asked to recite shlokas chosen by the judges.
ANY 1 Kanda from NamaRamayanam AND
Any 3 shlokas from Aditya Hridayam AND
Any 2 shlokas from Mahishasura Mardhini
● Namaramayanam: Any one Kanda from 1-6; (4 & 5 are considered one Kanda).
● Aditya Hridayam: Any three shlokas selected from 1-20.
● Mahishasura Mardini: Any two shlokas from 1-15
