Vedic Heritage School at Meenakshi Temple Celebrates Silver Jubilee
The celebrations commenced with a formal welcome and introductory addresses (by Smt.
Madhuri Vasudevan), setting the tone for a day dedicated to reflection, gratitude, and
purposeful dialogue. Senior leadership (Sri Sundar Arun, Chairman, MTS) shared messages
highlighting the vision, values, and collective eorts that have guided VHS since its
inception. A series of keynote lectures (Smt. Chitra Dharmarajan, Smt. Padmaja Sarathy &
Sri Partha Krishnamurthy) traced the organization’s evolution—from its founding principles
and early initiatives to its growth trajectory and current institutional status (by Sri Venkat
Prasad) —underscoring the role of disciplined governance, volunteer commitment, and
community trust in sustaining VHS over the past quarter century.
A significant highlight of the morning session was the launch of the Mentorship Program (by
Sri Ramsunder Ramamurthy); a strategic initiative aimed at nurturing future Hindu youth
leaders and strengthening intergenerational knowledge transfer, and to overcome current
challenges facing the Hindu youth. This launch reaffirmed HWP (Hindu WISDOM Program)
a new VHS@25, commitment to long-term capacity building and lead the intellectual depth
of the celebration was enriched through the WISDOM (Ways to Implement Sanatana
Dharma: Our Mission) lecture series (by Smt. Bhawna Luthra & Sri Swapnil Gutpe), which
addressed contemporary personal and societal challenges through reflective and values based
discourse. Topics included individual well-being, personal responsibility for
happiness, and Sanatana Dharmic perspectives on cultivating collectiveness while
addressing modern experiences of introversion and social isolation. These sessions
reinforced VHS’s role as a platform for thoughtful engagement between traditional wisdom
and present-day realities.
The release of the VHS Silver Jubilee Souvenir (by Sri Sam Kannappan & Sri Sundar Arun) served as a commemorative record of VHS’s journey, achievements, and contributors. The
presentation of the Nishkam Seva Award (to Smt. Padmaja Sarathy, Sri Partha
Krishnamurthy, Smt. Bhawna Luthra & Sri Swapnil Gutpe and a special Guest of honor for
Smt. Chitra Dharmarajan) recognized exemplary selfless service, while a dedicated
segment honored past volunteers whose sustained contributions laid the foundation for
VHS’s enduring success. These recognitions highlighted the organization’s culture of
gratitude and service excellence, followed a formal vote of thanks (by Smt. Vidya
Madabushi).
The afternoon sessions (moderated by Sri Karunakaran Chakravarthy) focused on youth
engagement and participatory dialogue. Senior students led a structured debate
addressing contemporary challenges faced by teens and pre-adolescents, followed by a
panel discussion integrating insights from keynote speakers (by Smt. Chitra Dharmarajan &
Smt. Bhawna Luthra). The dialogue explored constructive, Sanatana Dharma-inspired
approaches to addressing these challenges, reinforcing VHS’s/HWP’s commitment to
holistic education, ethical reasoning, and Hindu youth empowerment.
The VHS Silver Jubilee Celebrations concluded with closing remarks (by Sri Venkat Prasad).
Overall, the event reaffirmed VHS’s/HWP’s mission, honored its legacy, and articulated a
forward-looking vision grounded in values, service, and collective responsibility,
positioning the organization for continued relevance and impact in the years ahead Hindu
youth leadership development aligned with its core values.
